Anonymised · manufacturer
From fog to a cadence that ships.
Departments demonstrated working tools in a single working-group session. The board asked for more, not less. Working tools demonstrated; a governance rhythm established.
The story
How the work took shape.
Helix work · Advisory · Explore / Evaluate / Execute / Elevate
Stage reached: Working tools demonstrated; a governance rhythm established.
Scattered experiments. A leadership team that believed. No architecture for turning energy into a coordinated programme.
- The situation
- A national manufacturer already ran serious operational technology. AI mattered at the top of the house. The rest of the business was still experimenting in silos — finance, legal, sustainability, construction, each with an idea and no shared cadence.
- What we did
- We entered at Explore and stayed through Elevate: a maturity map across functions, then a steering committee, a working group, standardised intake, and rotating knowledge shares. The advisor sat in the room. Departments owned the builds. Monthly cadence, not a slide pack and a wave goodbye.
- What changed
- The question stopped being “should we?” It became “how fast, and who owns the next one?” Governance started to run as part of the operating rhythm.
- The evidence and status
- Departments demonstrated working tools in a single working-group session. The board asked for more, not less.
- The pattern
- If executives believe in AI and the business is still experimenting in silos, the work is a cadence — not another pilot.
